Young students will create a watercolor composition while learning basic drawing and painting techniques.

Older students will learn various acrylic painting techniques during this 2.5 hour class as they create their own compositions.

Afternoon Art Class (North Aurora, IL)

Students will learn to draw and paint as Karine demonstrates and draws along with her students while teaching fundamental principles of design, color theory, perspective and style. Classes include sketching practice, instruction on various topics and completion of finished projects using a variety of mediums including graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, ink, pastels and watercolor paints. All supplies are included. All that’s needed is a desire to learn!

Advanced Art Class (North Aurora, IL)

Serious art students in grades 8-12 are invited to join Karine once a month, from September 2008 through May 2009 for an intensive advanced art class in her home studio. This class would include the more advanced mediums of sculpture, printmaking and painting as well as drawing.  Students would be given more freedom to create and be conceptual in their work than in my usual classes.  Students would receive 2-4 hours of homework per month.

The Learning Vine (Naperville, IL)

Karine will be teaching the following classes at The Learning Vine Homeschool Enrichment Program which meets at Community Christian Church in Naperville, IL this fall, on Friday mornings. Register online at their website.

Drawing and Rendering

Karine Bauch will teach young students to draw and render in a variety of mediums, including watercolors and ink as well as graphite and charcoal. Subject matter will include landscapes, still lifes, and animals. Older students will be given the option to learn portraiture and anatomy as well. Karine draws at her easel right along with the students, using a step-by-step method that insures that everyone comes home with a successful project. Proper technique is taught from the earliest age and reinforced through all levels.

Level 1: Grades 2-4

Art Classes for the St. Charles Park District (St. Charles, IL)

Karine will be teaching the following classes for the St. Charles Park District this fall. Registration will begin in July 2008 at the park district website.

Homeschool Art Class

Homeschoolers in the area can connect with each other and learn to draw and paint with Karine Bauch, owner of Masterpiece Art Instruction. Introduction to Watercolor Painting (Teen and Adult)

Learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting while creating four beautiful projects. Skills covered include: creating a wash, brushwork, dry brushing, sponging, and spattering. No experience or supplies needed, just a desire to learn.

Ages: 14 - adult
Duration: 4 weeks (Monday evenings, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Oct-Nov)
