Personal Coat of Arms

In the Middle Ages,
each family had their own coat of arms with symbols that
held importance. Why not make your own individual (or family)
coat of arms?

Supplies:
A piece of cardboard
(9" x 12")
Construction paper in various colors
Scissors
Glue stick
Photos or clip art that represent important
things to your student *
Directions:
1. Cut a shield out
of the cardboard to look like the one above.
2. Cover the shield
with one sheet of construction paper and trim it to fit. Glue
it on with a glue stick.
3. Using a second
color, cut out a square and a triangle (see blue parts on the
above shield) to fit and glue down.
4. Glue four different
symbols of importance into the four sections of the shield.

If you don't have photos or clip art, each student can
draw their symbols with markers or crayons.
